Rad Reps: Living with Reptiles

The beginning
For as long as I can remember I have loved reptiles. When I was young I would get grounded on a weekly basis for staying at our neighborhood pond for too long. I caught red eared sliders (a very common pond turtle), bullfrogs, water snakes, and occasionally the feared alligator snapping turtle. Some of my fondest memories are the thrill of catching or filming a reptiles and amphibians in the wild. here are some pics of me doing just that!
So yeah, I am kind of strange. For a while I just caught reps and released them, I would keep them for a day or two but then I would let them back into the wild. (By the way I strongly discourage ever keeping any animal that is not captive born meaning hatched or born into a captive environment, this is never a good idea.) About two years ago my wife and I wanted to get some new additions to our household, with out all the responsibility an actual child brings. After some research we decided to get Crested Geckos, a species I didn't even know existed, this could be because for many years scientists believed that this particular species of geckos was extinct, then in the 90's some of them turned up on the isle of pines in New Caledonia. We picked up our kiddos from a local breeder (thanks to Nick and Katie) and heres what they looked like when we first got them. On the top we named that one Baghera like junglebook, and the one on the bottom we named Evoo like extra virgin olive oil, because of her color and we were in a grocery store when we named her.
